We’re all really interested in how children learn and acquire language. A lot of the current research and knowledge is based on studying majority groups and those who have the access and time to be able to participate in these studies. We are interested in the nuances of how not only biology, but also socio-economics can affect the language acquisition process.
We are also interested in how growing up in a bilingual home affects a child's language acquisition.
We want to focus on helping children who may have difficulties acquiring language, children who may not have parents around to develop their language skills continually, and children who may struggle originally from learning two languages at the same time.
